World Class Gewurztraminer

The German word gewürtz means "spiced," and these wines are known for their crisp, spicy attributes. They're highly fragrant, with flavor characteristics of litchi, rose (or flowers in general), and spices such as cloves and nutmeg. Traditionally grown in the Alsace region of France, it is grown in most of the same cold climates riesling is, so no wonder the Finger Lakes produces some of the most flavorful gewurtz's around!

2001Corey Creek Gewurztraminer ~ Long Island
An Alsatian style, it's dry, delicate, and crisp with a rose petal and litchi aromas, infused with hints of pineapple, melons and papaya. Perfect with spicy food and sharp cheeses. Double Gold Medal Winner & BEST GEWURZTRAMINER ~ 2003 NY Wine & Food Classic.

2001 Lamoreaux Landing Gewurztraminer ~ Seneca Lake
German for spicy grape, this wine is true to its name, its aroma. It is an interesting mix of an Old -English garden and pumpkin pie spice. Taste a hint of ginger, clove and nutmeg. Its fragrance is superb.

2002 Standing Stone Gewurztraminer ~ Seneca Lake
This wine is full of intense litchi fruit and honeysuckle aromas.. Serve with Chinese food or curries.

Pinot Noir ~ for your health!

These are all wines the Harvard Medical School, a Pennsylvania research laboratory and a number of other studies claim have among the highest evidence of the life-prolonging and heart-healthy chemistry found in red wines.

2001 Atwater Pinot Noir ~ Seneca Lake
This Pinot has a bright ruby color with cherry and-spicy aromas. It's medium-bodied with a lot of berry flavors. Medium tannin will allow it to age well. Try with red meats, tomato dishes and cheeses.

2000 Standing Stone Pinot Noir ~ Seneca Lake
Beautiful cherry and raspberry flavors, balanced with leather, truffle and vanilla characters. Try it with blackened catfish, mustard coated salmon, pork or grilled shrimp.

1999 Wagner Reserve Pinot Noir ~ Seneca Lake
A very limited bottling. A year in small oak puncheons and another 18 months on the cork give it an intensely spicy aroma balanced by pleasant black cherry and a subtle touch of vanilla. The perfect match for grilled salmon.

Rivendell Winery's Undead Red ~ Hudson Valley
Try this Halloween wine from Rivendell Winery in the Hudson Valley Region. It is a fruity wine that's made from a French Hybrid blend. Serve with pizza or wings watching a scary movie.

Hazlitt Red Cat ~ Seneca Lake
(We know you're supposed to beware of Black Cats, but this red cat makes it much more fun) Hot tubs, moonlight, and RED CAT, the perfect party animal! Semi-sweet & fruity blend of Catawba and Baco Noir. Add club soda and ice for a great wine spritzer or heat it with cinnamon sticks & orange peel for a yummy punch!

Red Newt White ~ Seneca Lake
Every recipe for Halloween calls for an eye of newt, so try a little red newt in your glass. An exquisite fruity blend of Vidal Blanc and Cayuga White. Perfectly balanced to accompany a wide variety of foods and please most any palate
