Fine champagne requires a special climate to grow
the grapes - it must be cool, to accentuate the aromatics of the grapes, have
the right combination of nutrients in the soils and be able to grow disparate
varieties that often do not seek the same climate. This is New York to a "T"
and New Yorkÿs reputation for fine sparkling wines (its OK to call them Champagne)
is growing in leaps and bounds. These three excellent wines are terrific examples
of why.
Seneca Lake
Crisp and lean, with delicate yet persistent flavors. Taut mineral notes make
this an excellent match for oysters and other shellfish.
Long Island
A medium bodied bubbly with zesty acidity and complex tiers of citrus and floral
notes. Mineral nuances in the long, intense finish. Subtly powerful.
Keuka Lake
Another stunningly complex wine from the preeminent sparkling wine house in New
York. A rare wine, made from Pinot Noir - simply elegant.
And they said that New York was too cold to make full
bodied, rich and age-able red wine. These three will knock your socks off. Full
of complexity, and deep, satisfying flavors, - they are truly a testament to
an unwavering dedication to quality in the vineyard and the cellar. (Whoÿs laughing
now?)
Seneca Lake
A superb blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Silky smooth
tannins wrap around a deep and concentrated mouthfeel. Expensive, but worth it.
Seneca Lake
Earthy, spicy, dark cherries and blackberries totally integrated with great ripeness
and wonderful complexity.
Keuka Lake
Intensely rich, with voluptuous mouthfeel that combine tannins, fruit and oak
in a harmonious balance, this is an undiscovered gem. Definitely age-able, but
drinking quite well while young.

"Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the hot mulled wines
by the fireÿs so delightful." (I know, donÿt give up your day job!) These wines
are terrific warm for those days when the snow is flying and you need that special
something to chase away the chill. Bask in the delightful melange of cinnamon,
cloves, and nutmeg...
Hudson Valley
This winery favorite is just the ticket for making your own blend of mulled wine.
Weÿve included a packet of mulling spices - an easy recipe that you can adjust
for just the right amount of flavor.
Cayuga Lake
This spicy and aromatic red wine is made with an extract imported from Sweden
which contains cinnamon, cloves, cardamon and ginger. Add raisins, cherries,
orange slices, and slivered almonds.
Hudson Valley
Their infamous spiced red wine. All natural spices added to a sweeter red wine.
